Food for Thought – Do What You Love

1 of 0

Every day I wake up and get ready for “work” without ever dreading the long days ahead of me. Luckily for me, my job is doing what I love and what I’m most passionate about. I am well aware that everyone can’t be this fortunate and it definitely is a privilege in life. However, People don’t seem to understand how hard myself and others work to get to this point in life. It took 2 years working as a stock boy and 5 years of being a sales person before I got the job of assistant buying. That was the opportunity which opened doors for me. It took 7 years to get to the front of that door. It’s very easy to stay in one place and bitch about how everyone else is lucky. In every type of business there is some type of entry level position which leaves room to grow, but most can’t see the opportunity. They’d rather talk it down and move to the next job. That’s why many of the kids I grew up with are still running on a treadmill, in the same room going nowhere. It’s not about waiting on that perfect opportunity on a silver platter to drop, it’s about really working your power to create more out of than what meets the eye. That’s a true test of character right there. Nothing but the basic opportunities have ever been handed to me. I’ve always had to work hard and fight for everything I ever wanted. All I could do is hope that this motivates some of you to take that 1st step. How many of you are really working hard to get to where you’d like to be?
