I just got back from LA. I got to meet some really good peoples, Gary of Crooked Tongues, Nick of Slamxhype, Keith Hufnagel of HUF, and Maxime Büchi of Sang Bleu. I stayed downtown for three nights and spent the first two days making the rounds to all the shops on Fairfax, Robertson and Melrose with my homie Marcus. LA is always a good time but it was the last day that made a big difference. I spent 5 hours in Venice clearing my head on Abbot Kinney Blvd, one of the most relaxing neighborhoods I have ever walked through. Seeing how the locals spend their weekends there made me rethink what I was doing with my free time. Everyone was extremely friendly and relaxed. It’s really a night and day difference between the attitudes of people in Los Angeles compared to New Yorkers, even the employees working in these dope little shops were in moods that made me want to shop with them. The one store that really caught my attention was Stronghold, a premier denim shop that produce their goods on premises, something we rarely see in the United States. Abbot Kinney Blvd was the perfect place to unwind and with all I have going on this season it was a great feeling to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere in perfect weather and great surroundings. Thank you LA, i will be back real soon.
