For my first project with Grenson, I wanted to use premium leathers they haven’t used in their line and offer colorways that are classic but will still catch your eye. The end result was a collection dominated by contemporary design aesthetics backed by this 140 year old historic company.
The new Spike V and Fred V are re-worked in premium waxed/burnished grey leathers while below sits a durable Vibram sole. The idea for the black Fred came from personally needing and wanting an all black brogue boot and I felt like this rich black waxy/oily leather and Commando sole was the perfect balance. The Spike duck boot features a two-toned design marked with its ridged toe and smooth upper body, while the Fred complements any outfit with its sleek brogue detailing. It was extremely important for people to see the shoe and still know it was a Grenson style, so the added red leather heel spike lets people know it’s not just a regular in line version but something truly special.
The Ronnie Fieg for Grenson collection offers a clean range of boots that can easily be worn dressed up on the go, but have enough character where they won’t blend in with the rest. The boots were produced in very limited quantities in the UK and can be found at Kith NYC stores and KithNYC.com for $470 USD.
