Ronnie Fieg x Caminando “Mountain Mid” Release Info

3 years ago while working for David Z, I walked into an unknown booth at the Project Trade Show in Vegas. I met a team of 3 very talented Japanese dudes and they showed me a line that I believed had signs of greatness but were still missing the elements that make the product sellable in the states. I spent an hour there giving them my input and I built a relationship that has grown to be a very good one. 2 and a half years later we started working on a boot that I believed can change the game a bit. Many companies are releasing hikers so it was a challenge trying to differentiate this project from all the other boots out there. That’s when ideas for inside zippers, changing the height, lining the boots with pig skin, adding a goodyear welt, and using a really comfortable outsole called the “Bilbo” come to play. The uppers of the navy, black, and brown Mountain Mid’s are made of premium nubuck and the Leopard Mid upper is made of brushed leather.
